A Precious Walk

I was exhausted and ready for bed. But. I wanted to go for a walk! It felt like I had not been outside all day even though I was. I had just been busy and not been with the trees much. So off into the dark I went.

I had the urge to go to the beach. (Birch Bay, WA) So I went that direction. Then I remembered it was actually pretty far. I kept going anyway.

I only used my flashlight in brief moments of necessity. I went down an unknown road. There was a gate that said area closed. I decided it meant for day use and campers could go anyway. ☺️ I wandered into some grass, past some picnic tables.

Then, I found myself in a Fairy tale. The light I had seen through the trees was not the harbor. It was the fat crescent Moon, tinged orange as it neared the horizon. The streak of orange reflection sparkling on the water. (One of my favorite things!) The scene was framed by tree boughs. I’m sure people have painted idyllic scenes like this. I was fully mesmerized. I soaked it all in as much as I could, as I watched the moon set behind a hill across the water. Then I danced with the fairies! 😻🧝🎶💞

An opossum made a racket scratching a tree! Hello opossum!

I finally allowed myself to go home and sleep. ~ Heavenly ~

I am so grateful they called me out into the dark and I followed ~

It was like a treat after an intense evening.
